Quote of the Week/ Weekly Words that WOWWHS Library & Learning Commons

💬 WHS Words of Wisdom Wednesday – April 8th, 2026

At Woodsville High School, we take a moment each week to reflect, grow, and challenge our thinking through our Words of Wisdom Wednesday series.

🌟 Quote of the Week

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” – Arthur Ashe

This week’s quote is a powerful reminder that progress doesn’t depend on having perfect conditions. Too often, we wait for the “right time” or the “right situation” to begin. In reality, growth starts with simply taking that first step—right where we are, with what we already have.

Whether it’s tackling a challenging assignment, preparing for a test, or working toward a personal goal, small actions can lead to meaningful progress over time.

📚 SAT Word of the Week

Quandary (noun)
A state of uncertainty or confusion about what to do.

✏️ Example:
“I was in a quandary about whether to study for math or take a nap.”

We all face moments of uncertainty, especially as students balancing responsibilities, decisions, and future plans. Recognizing when you’re in a quandary is the first step toward making thoughtful, informed choices.

As we move through the week, remember: you don’t need everything figured out to move forward. Start where you are—and keep going.
