🌊 Explore Marine Science This Spring with the Seacoast Science Center Fellowship
Woodsville High School students interested in science, the environment, and hands-on learning have an exciting opportunity this spring!
The Seacoast Science Center is offering a Marine Science Fellowship for high school students during the Spring 2026 semester, running from late March through mid-June. This unique program takes place at Odiorne Point State Park and gives students the chance to step outside the classroom and into real-world marine science experiences.
The fellowship meets on select Saturdays from 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM and covers a wide range of engaging topics, including:
Oyster and kelp aquaculture
Animal behavior studies
Oceanography
Salt marsh and tidepool biodiversity
Breeding bird surveys
Research projects and data collection
A volunteer event supporting marine mammals
Final project showcase and presentation
Students will work alongside scientists, instructors, and professionals in the field, gaining valuable insight into marine science careers while building real research and fieldwork skills.
This program is a great fit for students who enjoy science, care about the environment, or are curious about careers in marine biology and conservation.
