Welcome, Mr. Matt Kelly – WHS Interim Assistant Principal

Woodsville High School is excited to welcome Mr. Matt Kelly as our Interim Assistant Principal for the 2025–2026 school year!

Mr. Kelly grew up in Conway, New Hampshire and is a proud graduate of Kennett High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in German from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he also received a Fulbright Scholarship to continue to learn in Germany. He later went on to earn his master’s degree in Germanic Studies and is currently a doctoral candidate in Education with a focus on Instructional Leadership.

For the past six years, Mr. Kelly has been teaching German in Wilton, Connecticut. During the 2024–2025 school year, he also served as Interim Assistant Principal and Assistant Athletic Director. Outside of the classroom, he’s been active in athletics as the Boys Varsity Hockey Assistant Coach and the Girls Varsity Golf Assistant Coach.

Now back in his home state, Mr. Kelly says he’s thrilled to be part of the WHS community: “I’m looking forward to working with the students, faculty, and families here at Woodsville High School. It’s great to be back in New Hampshire.”

When he’s not at school, you can probably find Mr. Kelly on the golf course—he’s an avid golfer and loves spending time outdoors.

Mr. Kelly’s office is located on the third floor across from the Music Room. Be sure to stop by and say hello!
